Biography
Francesco Ruspoli was originally drawn to the surrealist works of Dali and de Chirico (still evidenced in his work today). A move from France to Britain opened Francesco's eyes to the Scottish expressionist school and led to a voyage of discovery around Bacon, Auerbach and Leon Kossoff.

Francesco's impressive list of awards include the Eugene Fromentin award and, more recently, a Gold Medal at the Beijing Olympic Fine Art show in China.

Powerful statements of vivid colour and bold outlines produce abstract images that retain a figurative touch. Subjects are drawn from urban life and social groups, whilst crosses of paint in contrasting colours hint at a strict religious upbringing.
